I found this site via google for the same problem. I have had my mb pro since july '07 and this 'not waking up' hasn't been a problem until I upgraded to 10.5.2, did keyboard firmware upgrade. I tried this change and it appeared to have fixed it for a day but later this evening, I closed my lid for 10 min and when I opened it, no glory! Had to force power off to get it back. So there is more to it than the hibernate setting.
