This is what happens when an Old giant with the understanding of the net like a 3rd year old tries to jump on the web 2.0 wagon.
Cellcom, one of the biggest israeli Cellular operator launched a “Web 2.0″ website for the genx to share and upload user generated content. Apart from the ugly design and the poor understanding of Social Websites, it looks like they gave a Blindman Photoshop to design the website, With Terrible Unacceptable logo, They tried being Heep and became Pathetic.
They wanted to be web 2.0 so bad they even did Round corners (Horaay!!!) that looks terrible, all of the design breaks under larger screen res’ , They tried doing something innovative and needed in the Local Mobile user market but as i like to say,a half baked product that has nothing interesthing to show other then the fact that they found the road to enlightenment or figured out how to transcode MMS messages and nothing more.
Why i have a feeling that if Orange would have done that it could be alot better. With their Previous attempts to penetrate the teenage market with Imode that exploded in their face causing them to fire people in sub contracted companys, i think its time someone look inside to see if the people they hire are the right kind for the job. You often find stupid people sitting in positions that could do alot in the mobile market and one by one take wrong actions because of poor understanding of Technology.
To Make long story short ,its a terrible attempt of a giant pretending his heep and kewl when actuly his not… Like watching your Dad dance in your Prom night… Its so sad you have to look away…
PS: Who doesnt love when production websites leave Marked out code for users to see how messy the coders are… And i’d really like to know whos the graphic designer that decided on the Arial size 8 in the Powered by Logo in black without Smoothing the font … I’d be more forgivable if they would be abit tacky and Write BETA near the logo. Thats the only excuse for a website like that .

Dhanit added these pithy words on Jul 03 06 at 4:30 pmWell, unfortunately the big companies in Israel always catch up much later. Do you remember the whole “Walla! Preview” thing? (I wrote about it here:).
That’s the way it is I guess. There’s really nothing to expect from the big Israeli portals or commercial companies as far as the so-called “Web2.0″ trend is concerned. They’re being lead by designers that are far behind the net’s latest trends.
Actually, your projects are much more exciting than Cellcom’s latest try.We all just need some more time (and money
, but we’ll get there.

Aloni added these pithy words on Jul 03 06 at 8:47 pmFrom a person called Ynet Visior i dont take stuff personaly, and thats what i like about Israeli Commenters and Talkbekistim, They comment about the author not the content. Thats exectly the reason ynet moderate comments.
